What and How to Give

Tom Linfield, Peter Lundberg, and Bill DeAtley celebrate
a new Habitat for Humanity  Dane County project.

The Madison Community Foundation accepts a wide variety of assets from donors wanting to create a new fund or add to an existing fund. Contributions to the Madison Community Foundation offer higher tax advantages than those to a private foundation.

In addition, creating a charitable fund with MCF offers benefits that cannot be achieved with a commercial gift fund.  We are able to accept non-cash gifts, to facilitate lifetime charitable gifts as well as those associated with estate plans, and to offer our deep knowledge of philanthropy and the world of charitable giving.  We know and understand the Dane County community and the best opportunities and most pressing issues better than any other charitable giving option.

Visit the What to Give Now and How to Give Later pages for details about each of the following giving options:
  • Bequests
  • Cash
  • Closely Held Stock
  • Life Insurance
  • Mutual Fund Shares
  • Publicly Traded Securities
  • Real Estate
  • Retirement Plan Assets
The foundation makes it easy to give.  You can make a contribution to any fund using our secure web server.  If you wish to make monthly contributions to your fund, or any fund, this can be facilitated through electronic funds transfer.  You can also create a charitable gift annuity that provides you with a steady stream of income by contributing one of the assets listed above to the foundation.
