Rio Community Foundation (RCF)
Rio Community Library
Rio Community Foundation (RCF) is a group of component funds of the Madison Community Foundation. RCF Funds are dedicated to preserving and enhancing the quality of life for people of all ages in Rio, Wisconsin. As the central vehicle for obtaining and coordinating charitable giving in the Rio area, RCF accomplishes this endeavor by raising resources and encouraging support in the following areas: education, agriculture, and community development. RCF recognizes that the community can do more when it works together to address needs and opportunities.
RCF also considers other areas for support as the need arises.
While RCF is an independent body from the Rio School District, the School District endorsed the creation of RCF.
RCF Advisory Board
RCF is governed by a board that is comprised of community leaders and educators. The Board raises money for the endowments, reviews requests for support and advises distributions from each fund.

Goals
1) To build the established funds to a cumulative total of $100,000 in the next 3-5 years.

Build
Individuals may also set up Donor Advised endowment funds that they can direct distributions from. This provides families an opportunity to build a legacy that will serve their community for generations-to-come.
Receive
As each of the RCF funds reaches a minimum level of $10,000 it will begin to make distributions for charitable purposes in the Rio community. Currently the Rio Public Library Fund has reached this level.
As funds such as the General Community Fund and General Education Fund reach this level the available distributions will be directed by the Board. At that time a grant application procedure and guidelines will be developed.
