Building Strong Nonprofits = Building A Stronger Community

Community Impact Grants

Our community’s strongest assets are the thriving nonprofits that strengthen and enhance the lives of the people they serve. When nonprofits thrive, everyone thrives. On top of the $8 million MCF donors distribute throughout the community, Madison Community Foundation invests an additional $1.8 million to the nonprofit sector through Community Impact grants each year. Designed to strengthen the Madison area’s greatest assets, these competitive grants support children and youth, the elderly, community development, the environment, learning, arts and culture and nonprofit capacity building in communities across Dane County.

Building Your Agency's Endowment

An endowment is an important component to a nonprofit’s financial strategy. MCF manages more than 275 endowments for charities, and provides ongoing technical assistance to those groups on topics such as fundraising for their endowment and planned giving strategies. Charitable organizations with a nonprofit endowment fund receive a steady stream of income to support their ongoing good works.
